3 sculpey tips

by looking at the pictures of my last post and this post, you will be able to see a few of my clay keychain creations. I use sculpey clay and glaze them with sculpey glaze :) It's lots and lots of fun! :D

a few peachy sculpey tips!
  • USE TLC: If you are making keychains or ornaments or earrings or... anything that requires a hook in the clay, I would suggest getting Sculpey translucent liquid clay to help adhere the hook and make it more durable. TLC is also very useful for many other things, which I will explain in later posts :)
  • LINE THE PAN WITH ALUMINUM FOIL: when you bake your clay in a glass pan, line the pan with aluminum foil, shiny side down (dull side up) :) I learned this from a friend who makes things out of sculpey professionally for a living :P . She says that this evens out the heat a little better. After using this technique numerous times, I do think that this helps reduce the chances of your creations getting burned :)
  • PASTA MACHINES ARE NOT JUST FOR NOODLES: I got a pasta machine from Michael's arts and crafts store for about $20. I use it ALL the time. Pasta machines roll out your clay into sheets at an even thickness. My pasta machine has a thickness setting (1-9). and my pasta machine has served me well. :)
if you have any comments, suggestions, or questions, please comment or email me! :D
