I haven't been working on much... just drawing some stuff for my brother's iPhone apps. I recently got Adobe Illustrator CS4 :) I think it's safe to say that illustrator is the best program I have ever used. Although it's very simple, you can easily create very complex drawings. I haven't drawn much with it, but when I finally produce something nice, I'll post it up :)

Magnetic sheep plush!

I made this during winter break... the only time when I have time.
This little sheep is magnetic! (He has a couple magnets in his stomach.) He's about 4.5 inches long (nose to tail)
Even though I would love to sew more plushies, I don't have the time... Finals are this week. :(

sculpey: painting and faces

Many people have asked me how I paint my sculpey things. Do you use paint? or different colors of sculpey clay? What do you use to draw the face on?

I generally use different colors of sculpey clay as opposed to painting on the different colors. However, for smaller details, I use paint. For example, in the cow charm that I made (can be seen in this post) I used paint for the pink nose part of the head and the spots. But, I also painted the entire cow white. This is because white clay easily browns when baking... even if it isn't really burned. So it really just depends on the piece. I try to avoid painting an entire charm because I am not very good at painting even coats.
I draw on the faces with a special felt tip pen (usually 0.3 or 0.1 thickness). If there are cheeks, I use a toothpick and dab on pink paint.

I hope you find this useful! :)

Just a little peek at what I'm working on. :)

About the photo: the first earrings I made. It was an art trade request :)

I hope to be making some plastic products soon :D I have a few designs I would like to try. (Elephants, octopi, kitties.... etc. etc.) I would also like to make a few plushies, but I'm having a difficult time finding the right fabric. So I'm still working on that. Also, I feel motivated to make more Japanese-inspired charms again. So I will hopefully be working on that too :) annnd I have a craftshow coming up this weekend! :) (I really want to have an etsy store too, but the minimum age requirement is 18 D: I'm years away... saad.)

I working on learning this new program I downloaded (Inkscape). I'm new to this vector thing :P

I have a lot to work on! :)

inspired

Lately, I have been really inspired to crochet, carve rubber stamps, and make acrylic keychains. Sometimes, I just have sudden bursts of inspiration. I bought a carving block and some carving tools, and I hope to get to making rubber stamps soon. I printed some amigurumi patterns I want to try, so I really want to crochet. I just found a simple easy-to-use website that can cut out your custom acrylic designs, so I really want to try that out. But, sadly, I am in highschool and highschool does not allow for much free time :( Yesterday, I had time to do some clay things because there is an art show coming up in November... but that is pretty much it. I really want to get my creative "juices" flowing. :( but school and lack of time has clogged these "juices" and so it just circulates through my brain all day. sighh.
